A photograph of murals in Little Italy

Under the Queensway overpass on Preston Street, or Corso Italia, you will find a series of murals that portray life in Ottawa's Little Italy. Sponsored by local businesses and community organizations, and spearheaded by the Preston Street business improvement association, the murals depict Little Italy's cultural heritage, from its community celebrations to its local businesses and eateries. The murals are also a means of deterring graffiti tagging in the area.

Walk in either direction from the murals down Corso Italia and you will find some of Ottawa's best cappuccino, pasta and pastries. The neighbourhood was first settled by Italian immigrants following World War I, and today many businesses are still family-run.
